the monkey mushrooming

Spring semester has been long over and so I've got lots of extra time to put things in order, including this blog which had basically been inactive YET AGAIN for many times I cannot count them anymore.

But since I have been lazy, I will not give this particular "blog resurrection" the grandioso opening remakrs I have always done in the past. I think it has become too cliche already. Come by August and fall semester starts, I know I'll be parting from this blog again. So, I'll save myself and my poor posts from the sob stories of how making this blog active again relates to how I feel reborn (what again?) blah blah blah. You probably know the drill. Truth is, I just feel lazy most of the time. I've got a lot of things that I want to share and write in this blog even if I'm the only one who gets to read them. My semi obsessive-compulsiveness I have developed from work gets in the way though. So now I try to elude from that and just throw everything in. That's the great thing about blogging. You don't have to be accurate when you talk about your own life.

I haven't been up to a lot these past months except for the crazy hours I had. Working a full-time job and going to school is no mean feat. So kudos to all working students out there! Now I understand how Red Bull and caffeine could be one's best friend. It definitely gives you a kick in the ass when you desperately need it at 2 o'clock in the morning. To give you a sense of it, here was my schedule this spring semester:

This schedule I had is basically much worst than I had last semester even if had 8.0 credit hours then. That is why I vowed myself never to take night classes again. It totally drained me out. A day usually have 24 hours, but with my night classes, it felt like everyday could go on forever when you already wanted it to end and just crawl to bed and get some good sleep.

Slumber was another thing I enjoy the most now during school break since I mostly get four to five hours of sleep everyday for the past two semesters I've been in this college-work thing. Seven to eight hours of sleep is a heaven indeed. Don't underestimate it. I felt like a zombie walking at the college campus and the workplace because of sleep deprivation. To be a zombie: glad I could check that one off of my list now! Thanks to bills, bills, responsibilities, but mostly bills!

One of the things I first did during my free time this summer is to edit past videos we had in the film organization I belonged to in college in the Philippines. We were supposed to make a music video out of the songs from the band "Kartoon Chemistry," a group well-known by UP Los Banos students for their wistful tunes and deep-rooted lyricism. The video is about four to five years old and we didn't have time to finish it, and since every single member put a big effort on it, I just can't leave it undone.

It's one of those things I have on a list stored in my brain that I know I'll have to accomplish, or else I'll regret it. The videos are posted under my facebook account, but only my friends could view it. I would have loved to share it here though.

I also get to watch movies on my laptop and continue reading the books I have set aside, particulary Edgar Sawtelle.

Anyway, it's Monday again tomorrow. Back to work. Plus I'll be working on the bulletin board at our unit, giving it a beach-y theme for June. That should be fun! Plus I can't wait til it's Wednesday. I'll be at Kate Voegele's concert at Martini Ranch, a bar and club in Scottsdale, together with Jasmine, Angel, and their friend Joanne (which reminds me, most of the people I meet here start their names with a "J"). It's gonna be wicked fun.

Until the next post, don't know when. Like a friend said, I am the mushroom blogger. But I don't see anything bad about that. I love mushrooms anyway.
